The Process
Making a paper mache pet begins with rough shaping crumpled paper and chicken wire. They are very light materials that allow for air flow to help the paper mache dry completely. Then, layers of paper mache are applied and dried. The process is repeated, some spots needing more layers than others, until it’s ready for the next step: painting. Finally, eyes and whiskers are added. The pets are a great gift for yourself and anyone who would like their pet remembered in a one-of-a-kind way.

Prices for pre-made paper mache pets range from $25-$50. Customized pet “portraits” are priced per project. If you are a local resident, local delivery or pick up of the completed pet is preferred. If you would like to have it shipped and/or are not local, please contact Deb in another email here to discuss options. Please allow around 2 weeks for your pet to be made to your specifications.
